Dear Mr. Spencer, As I write, it is 1:12 am in Gainesville, Florida where I live. I am up at this late hour because I have just finished reading in its entirety your online book, "Beyond Mormonism." As a Christian, reading your testimony brought tears to my eyes at the wonderful grace of God to save you and your family, just as He has done for me.

You see, I am 22 years old, I have just finished college at the University of Florida and God has put a deep passion on my heart to reach Mormons with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My best friend is LDS (he just returned from his mission in Brazil). I have many friends who are LDS and we often talk about Jesus.

This past summer I lived in Orem, Utah where I worked with a local pastor who himself is in the process of planting a church in Utah County, which is 98% LDS. Soon I will be attending seminary for two years and then, God willing, I want to return to Utah and help this pastor plant more churches and ultimately see as mony Mormons come to know the real Jesus as possible!

Your testimony sure was inspiring. I'd love to hear from you and know more about your church and what sorts of ministries you do in your town. I don't know much about church planting or really how to even "minister" in any professional sense--all I know is I deeply desire to tell as many Mormons as God will allow me to, about the wonderful grace of Jesus Christ.

As of yet, I have not had the joy of seeing any of my many LDS friends come to Christ, but reading your testimony gives me confidence that God is faithful, and in due time He will save these dear people.

Well, I don't really know what official question to ask you or how you should respond--I just know that your testimony touched my heart and I'd love for you to respond in any way you feel led. God bless you, your family, and your ministry--continue to allow the love of God to flow through you to the Mormons around you.

Love,

Mark

Mark,

Thanks for the kind words!

I no longer pastor. For the past fifteen years I have been in full-time "cults" ministry. Keeps me busy for sure.

Thanks for your interest in Through the Maze Ministry. If you email me your snail address, I'll send you a packet of information including some tracts, back issues of our newsletter, and a resource list.

Jim Spencer.
